I am the Head of Venture Development at WATTx. WATTx builds purpose driven ventures that challenge the status quo in the industrial space. As part of the Viessmann group, we work closely with German “Mittelstand” partners to create startups where the solution is designed around what enterprise, industrial customers want and where there is a clear problem to solve.
I have a wide range of experience in managing various small businesses – from running a diving centre in Jamaica to an investor relations company in my native South Africa. I have a background in finance, accounting and economics and I am an alumnus of ESMT where I completed my MBA in 2015.
After ESMT, I worked with various startups and innovation hubs in Berlin before settling at WATTx as a venture developer. My role is to fill the CEO position in the early stages of the venture. I work closely with the UX strategy, tech and data science teams to define the problem the startup solves, the solution, build out the MVP and test the solution in the market. I am heavily involved in the market entry strategy development, customer and service-oriented business modelling, corporate venturing and implementing industry 4.0 topics.
